Community healthcare services provider Locala CIC has today gained accreditation for their ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. The award follows a programme of support delivered by sustainability consultancy WRM who have developed the management framework and also initiated low carbon projects including an electric car trial for district nurses.
Commenting on the work Chris Tuffrey from the professional standards organisation QMS Ltd. said “it’s probably the best example of an EMS that I’ve seen for some time”. Locala are now looking to build on the management system to develop additional environmental programmes that will further reduce their carbon emissions and increase their social value impact across their delivery areas.
