WRM have been conducting bioaerosols monitoring at Biowise’s composting site since 2015, following the AfOR Standardised Protocol. Upon Biowise amending their site process and applying for a new permit, the Environment Agency (EA) specified that Biowise must adapt their bioaerosols monitoring from the AfOR protocol to the new M9 Technical Guidance Note.
In order to ensure that WRM were ready to provide an updated bioaerosols service when amends to the guidance were introduced in 2017, WRM stayed up to date with the M9 Guidance throughout its development. WRM invested in industry-best equipment to enable us to carry out the increased monitoring requirements. WRM also consulted with the EA to confirm the new requirements to ensure that our monitoring protocol aligned with the EA’s expectations.
Monitoring was conducted to the new M9 Guidance in a timely manner. A bespoke, detailed report was written to detail the monitoring event and provide in-depth analysis of bioaerosols levels at the site. The report was submitted to the client for review. After ensuring the client was satisfied with the quality of the report, the report was the submitted to, and accepted by, the EA. Future monitoring events were then arranged with the client to complete the client’s permit requirement.
