NHS Trusts Green Plan Guidance Webinar

• In October 2020, Greener NHS published it’s Delivering a Net-Zero NHS report, committing the NHS to achieving net-zero carbon emissions, including its wider supply chain, by 2045.
• All NHS trusts were mandated to develop a board-approved Green Plan by the end of January 2022. Green Plans should commit trusts to achieving net-zero and outline methods for emissions reduction in line with national trajectories over a 3-year period.
• The 2021 Green Plan guidance has been updated, and Greener NHS have asked trusts to update their Plans in line with new guidance. This new guidance was published in February 2025.

All NHS Trusts need to review their Green Plans by the 31st July 2025.
