Maintaining high standards

WRM operates company management systems to monitor key aspects of the business such as environmental performance, health and safety and quality. In addition to these internal processes, WRM is continually adding to its knowledge-base and accesses the latest best practice, research and operational developments through its own hands on delivery and active participation in several Trade Associations and Institutes.

Renewable Energy Association

REA was established in 2001 as a not-for-profit trade association, representing British renewable energy producers and promoting the use of renewable energy in the UK. REA helps our members build commercially and environmentally sustainable businesses whilst promoting clean technologies and increasing the contribution of renewable energy to the UK’s electricity, heat, transport and green gas needs. Its membership also includes composters, following the merger of the Association for Organics Recycling (formerly the Composting Association) in 2013.

WRM are longstanding members of REA having been appointed approved consultant under the AfOR. WRM continue to support this core trade association including the presentation at events, sitting on sector working groups, sponsorship, and responding to consultations and lobbying papers to help shape the future of the sector.

National Farmers Union

The NFU was founded in 1908 and is today, the largest farming organisation in the UK, providing a strong and respected voice for the industry to support the needs of its members locally, nationally and internationally.

WRM are NFU members providing support to the farming industry through management of fertiliser application (FACTS qualified) and meeting the requirements of environmental legislation when applying materials to land.

Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment

The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) is the professional membership body for promoting best practice standards in environmental management, auditing and assessment for all industry sectors. IEMA is now the leading international membership-based organisation dedicated both to the promotion of sustainable development, and to the professional development of individuals involved in the environmental profession, whether they are in the public, private or non-governmental sectors.

WRM IEMA accredited consultants provide assessed technical knowledge in the environmental sector and implement industry wide standards for environmental management.

Chartered Institution of Wastes Management

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) is the professional body which represents over 7,000 waste professionals working in the sustainable resources and wastes management sectors, predominantly in the UK but also overseas. CIWM sets the professional standards for individuals working in the industry and has various grades of membership determined by education, qualification and experience.

WRM have staff at full member status demonstrating excellent working knowledge of the waste management industry, and consequently, they are involved in shaping the industry through the CIWM at a strategic level.

Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association

ADBA was established in 2009 as a not-for-profit organisation representing businesses in the anaerobic digestion sector, to help remove the barriers to growth currently faced by the industry and to promote the benefits of AD to the UK. We want to realise the potential of the AD industry, and allow this sector to deliver energy security and economic growth – in waste management, farming, transport and food processing, among others – while also combating climate change.

WRM are active ADBA members, attending and presenting at conferences and exhibitions, ensuring that we contribute to the shaping and development of the sector as a voice of our clients.
