Full Day Course
The full-day workshop covers various modules related to climate science, healthcare impacts, policy positions, carbon footprints, and action planning. It encourages interactive discussions and empowers participants to take climate action. Completion leads to Carbon Literacy Accreditation. This course is eligible for both NHS employees and non-NHS healthcare professionals.
Full Day Course Cost – £100 (ex. VAT). Please note: These workshops can be funded by your Trust directly. The price includes your personalised Carbon Literacy certificate.

Half Day Hybrid Course
The Carbon Literacy Project, in collaboration with Greener NHS and e-Learning for Healthcare (ELFH), have made a half day hybrid course which includes the completion of an e-Learning package and a half-day workshop. WRM are delivering the workshop element of the course. This course is eligible only for NHS employees with an NHS email address.
Half Day Workshop Cost – £75 (ex. VAT). Please note: These workshops can be funded by your Trust directly. The price includes your personalised Carbon Literacy certificate.

Full Day Course
The full day workshop is a comprehensive package and includes modules on:
- Climate science;
- Climate change impacts & healthcare;
- Climate action as a health innovation;
- The policy position;
- Carbon footprints;
- Climate action in healthcare;
- Action planning & talking about climate change.
The full day course is 7 hours in length and invites discussion on a variety of climate related topics. The aim of this course is to engage your workforce, and empower them to take climate action within their sphere of influence. Upon completion of this course and successful evidence form submission, you will receive a Carbon Literate certificate of accreditation. Please enquire about bespoke packages if you have specific content requirements for your ICS or Trust. Please note, this course is eligible for both NHS and non-NHS healthcare professionals.

Step 1: E-Learning
The Carbon Literacy for Healthcare eLearning contains five modules which broadly cover:
- Climate change science, impacts and policy on a global, national and organisational scale.
- The impacts of climate change on health, the contribution of healthcare to overall emissions and the NHS’ plan to reach net zero
- Climate equity and our most vulnerable communities.
- Strategies for influencing others to take action on climate change.
Each module concludes with an assessment to test your knowledge. You can always pick up where you left off as your progress will automatically be saved on your account.
Step 2: Workshop
WRM are offering this workshop to anyone who has completed step 1 of the hybrid training package and is an NHS colleague with an NHS email address.
Upon completion of your eLearning, you should book onto a follow-on workshop with us on one of the following dates to complete your training and apply for your accreditation:

The half-day session times for all dates are 9am – 1pm.

Having focused globally and nationally in the eLearning package, the half day and full day workshops will focus on practical emission-saving actions in your workplace setting.

The training places for the half day workshop are available to sign up to by any NHS colleagues with an NHS email address. For the full day workshop, any healthcare professional is invited to attend.
Please note you only become ‘Carbon Literate’ when you have received your certificate of accreditation following completion of your workshop and evidence submission.
WRM will only run the session if a sufficient number of registrants is achieved. In the case a session cannot go ahead, we will work to re-arrange the training date to a time suitable for all. We do provide refunds to those no longer wishing to attend should this circumstance arise.
